About Montenegro
Montenegro is a beautiful coastal republic which faces Italy over the Adriatic Sea.

With its stunning scenery, warm Mediterranean climate and hospitable people it’s no wonder that the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has identified it as the fastest growing holiday destination in the world. However, Montenegro is doing no more than recapturing the glory of its 1970’s and 80’s heyday when film stars made a beeline for its unspoiled medieval-era coastal towns and inviting beaches and coves.

One of the most attractive locations in Montenegro is the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), Europe’s most southerly Fjord. Wooded hills slope down to the sparkling water whilst medieval towns and villages built from local stone nestle at the water’s edge. The area is UNESCO registered, protecting against over-development.

Investment Case

Overseas property investors have recently been arriving on the frequent and short (2 hours) flights from places such as London and Moscow.

They recognise that Montenegro is one of the world’s leading investment locations, having witnessed significant property price rises since 2004. Over the next 2-4 years, prices are forecast to catch up with its neighbour Croatia as Montenegro regains its status as a premier Mediterranean destination.

Montenegro benefits from a strong buy-to-let market for holidaymakers which underpins the growth of the property market. It also offers a straightforward purchase process not to mention zero capital gains tax, both of which are attractive to investors.

With EU accession only a few years away, a shortage of genuinely well built property and a Government determined to avoid the fate of the overdeveloped Spanish costas, confidence is high that the property market will sustain its growth rates – there are still many bargains to be had for the first generation of investors.

So why not dip your toe into the sparkling waters of Montenegro to sample its diverse and exciting culture, history and the amazing range of scenery and pursuits which all exist within a few kilometers of each other.

Just don’t forget to bring your skis (for the resort at Zabljak), hiking books (for Durmitor National Park), beach towel (for Montenegro’s 290km of coastline) and paddles (for Tara Canyon rafting).
